We are an interdisciplinary and award-winning team of experts on data science and design. As part of the Tagesspiegel publishing house, we discover connections in large data sets and impart them in a user-centered and highly efficient way.
»Der Tagesspiegel« was founded in 1945 and today is the newspaper of record for politics in the German capital, with over 100,000 subscribers and the largest online coverage. More than half of its readers are policy makers – no other German daily newspaper is more commonly read by political decision makers.
With Giovanni di Lorenzo (co-publisher of ZEIT) and Sebastian Turner as publishers, the Tagesspiegel was honored with the 2014 LeadAward in Gold as »Lead Newspaper of the year«. Editor-in-chief Lorenz Maroldt received the Online-Grimme-Award in 2015 for the newsletter »Checkpoint«. In 2016, the debate portal »Causa« by the Tagesspiegel received the LeadAward in Gold for »Illustration of the Year«. Further prizes include German Reporter Awards in 2011, 2013, and 2015 and several nominations in the field of data journalism.
